Here’s what we’ll be covering over Spring term in Year 3:
EnglishIn English this term, the children will learn about and write a variety of texts such as poetry, emails and persuasive letters. We will be writing our own non-fiction emails and persuasive letters. We will be reading ‘The Dragonsitter’ and a variety of letters. |

Maths
|
In maths, the children will be learning more about place value, where they will be comparing and ordering numbers to 1000 and counting in 50s. With addition and subtraction, they will be learning complements to 100, to estimate answers and use inverse operations.
They will also be doing some work on mass and capacity. Here they will use scales, compare mass and add and subtract mass. |

PE
We have PE on the following days:
Tuesdays and Thursdays
This term the children will be practising and learning the skills for Dance and Athletics.
No jewellery is to be worn on PE days.
Homework
Every child is expected to complete their three-weekly reads, access TT Rockstars for at least 21 minutes and practice their weekly spellings on Spelling Frame for 21 minutes.
