Here’s what we’ll be covering over this term in Year 5:
English
In English, we will be learning how to write fairy tales with a twist and explanation text.
Maths
In maths, we studying the relationships between fractions, decimals and percentages.
You can help your children succeed by encouraging them to use TT Rockstars daily.

Computing – computer aided mechanics
Science – properties and changes of materials
RE – Is science the only way to know things?
Geography – rivers
PE
Our PE days remain on Monday and Friday.
We will be learning how to play tag rugby and doing orienteering.
Homework
Every child is expected to complete their three-weekly reads, access TT Rockstars and practice their spellings.
Children need to read at home at least 3 times per week and log this on Boom Reader. Children need to learn their spellings each week.
Optional topic homework is also available, and all homework is posted weekly.
