A welcome message from Mrs Jackson, our Headteacher here at Surrey Street Primary

I hope our website gives you a flavour of what makes Surrey Street such a special place to learn and work.

We are a family school, at the heart of the local community, dedicated to providing the very best learning experiences for our children. Our vision is:

Learning for life at Surrey Street where the social, emotional, spiritual, physical

and learning needs of every member of the school community are met.

Visitors to the school always comment on the happy, productive atmosphere and the friendliness of pupils and staff. The children, staff and I are  all extremely proud to be part of the Surrey Street team.  We know how important it is to work in partnership with parents.  Working together we can ensure your child has excellent learning behaviour and manners.  We have a reputation for being a very friendly school.  By joining us you will also be part of creating that friendly atmosphere at our school.

It is important to us that each child is happy, confident and feels secure and successful.  We have high expectations and aim to achieve good standards in all areas of learning.  This requires a balanced education that promotes academic achievement, creativity and a caring attitude to others.  We wish to work closely with you as parents to develop in our pupils the values of hard work, politeness, self-discipline and a pride in appearance.

The school has three simple key rules that we expect all children to follow:

* Show good manners at all times

* Follow all instructions

* Stay in the supervised area

Our school welcomes new pupils from around the world, country and town but, at the same time, we can boast that we also have pupils whose parents and grandparents came to Surrey Street and we have former pupils who work within the school. We have staff with children or grandchildren who are current pupils and staff who are related to each other - truly a family school!

Why not come to visit us in person to find out more.
